Depot repair means your device comes to our bench instead of a technician guessing at it in your warehouse. For Phoenix-area businesses that is a drive down 24th Street; for the rest of the country it is a box and a packing list. When a printer or a fleet of scanners cannot leave the floor, we also dispatch a technician on-site anywhere in the Phoenix metro. Every lane ends at the same five-tech depot and the same 90-day warranty.

The depot sits at 5631 S 24th St, just south of Sky Harbor and one exit off I-10 at 24th Street, in the same industrial corridor as most of the metro's distribution centers. Drivers from Tempe and Chandler come up I-10; the West Valley and Goodyear logistics parks come across the Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway.

On-Site Repair Across the Phoenix Metro
On-site service is for equipment that is bolted down, built into a line or too heavy to move. A Sterling technician comes to your warehouse in Phoenix, Tempe, Chandler, Mesa, Gilbert, Scottsdale, Glendale, Goodyear or Tolleson with the parts the diagnosis calls for.

What can I do if my barcode scanner isn't working?
Check the cable or cradle connection, swap the battery, and try a known-good scan on a printed barcode before assuming the scan engine has failed. If it still will not read, bring it to the Phoenix depot or ship it in; diagnosis is the first step of every repair, and we quote before any work starts. Can a barcode scanner be repaired, or is it cheaper to replace it?
Most scanner faults are wear parts — scan engines, triggers, cables, housings and batteries — and are repairable at a fraction of the cost of a new unit. Replacement makes more sense only when the device's operating system is out of support and your software is moving. Either way the depot will tell you which before you spend anything.
Do I have to ship my equipment, or can I drop it off in Phoenix?
Phoenix-metro businesses can drop off at 5631 S 24th St, Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM Arizona time, and pick up when the repair is done. Customers outside Arizona ship to the same depot using the repair packing list. There is no drop-ship to any other address.
Do you repair printers on-site?
Yes, within the Phoenix metro. Industrial Zebra printers are heavy and expensive to ship, so a technician comes to your facility for printhead, platen, sensor and calibration work. Outside the metro, printers can still ship in to the depot.
What is covered by the 90-day warranty?
Every repair performed at the depot and every refurbished unit we sell carries a free 90-day warranty on the work and the parts replaced. Full terms are on the warranty and returns page. Longer coverage is available through Sterling Mobile Complete Care, up to three years.
Is a maintenance contract required?
No. The depot works on a flat-rate or per-incident basis, so a single scanner gets the same bench and the same warranty as a fleet under a Complete Care plan.
